James & Andrea

Well I just finished wrapping up the work we did at the wedding of James & Andrea, who were married at the Wichita Scottish Rite Center on May 30th. The SRC is one of my very favorite indoor venues to shoot in, and this family is near and dear to our hearts, so it was a really great day. We shot James's sister's wedding last year, which turned out beautifully (she's beautiful), and we've known the whole family for several years from church, so we were more than happy to sign on for James & Andrea.

I knew after shooting this couple's engagement pictures last month that they were a very fun & affectionate couple, so I had really been looking forward to their wedding, and I wasn't disappointed. They were a dream to work with, and didn't even complain when I kept saying "Oh, can we just try this one more idea I just had?" I love them :)

The ceremony itself was held directly in front of the large stained glass window on the grand staircase, which was just gorgeous. The reception was held there in the same room, which the couple had decorated with hundreds of strands of white lights.

We took the entire wedding party all over the building and the streets outside, and it was totally worth it.

We love James & Andrea and wish them all the best!

Mark & Cathy, Tyler & Kylee

So I'm getting a little behind on the blog, but it's June...not exactly our slow time around here. We've been continuing to keep very busy with engagement shoots and weddings. We recently were finally able to take care of two engagement shoots with couples who had had to reschedule three or four times because of the crazy unpredictable Kansas weather.

Mark and Cathy are both retired Air Force pilots who are getting married on June 20th. Because Mark is still working as a pilot and is not always in town, this was the first time I had actually met the couple...they had to hire us over the phone :) We met at Botanica and then moved on to the bridges around the famous Keeper of the Plains, where Mark & Cathy had their first "non-date." Mark was appalled when I couldn't recall the exact model of plane my dad flies, but I'm hoping he'll forgive me eventually :) I had a lot of fun with them and can't wait to see them again.

Tyler & Kylee are another couple who have had trouble rescheduling, due to the fact that they don't actually live in Wichita. However, the third time was a charm with them and we ended up having a beautiful sunny day to work with and ended up with tons of fabulous pictures...so many we couldn't even fit them all into their engagement album! We walked around Old Towne for a while and then went over to the Hyatt Hotel, where they were actually willing to get INTO the fountain for me to get some really cute shots. I just followed them in and the results were so much fun. Their wedding will be our first one after we have our baby in September, and I know it will be a great one!
